“The Faith That Roars”
The events of Daniel’s life have been popularized through kids’ Sunday School, but also tamed via this delivery. The reality of Daniel’s life and the conditions in which he lived were not child’s play. He lived through several kings, or emperors, spanning three empires. Taken from his home as a teenager, Daniel remained faithful to God, despite the efforts to change him, quiet him and discredit him. What is often missed is the fact that Daniel must have had a solid upbringing in the Lord up to the moment he was taken captive by the world’s super power, Babylon.
The book of Daniel details the faithfulness of Daniel from his teenage years to his senior adult years. It also mentions three other faithful men. The book follows Daniel and his three friends as they live faithfully to Yahweh, despite the personal consequences. It reveals that we are suppose to be, and can be, faithful, regardless of the pressure to become like the world. This encapsulates the first 7 chapters of the book of Daniel. The remainder of the book reveals God’s prophetic plans for the rest of history, including the arrival of Messiah.
In essence, Daniel lived in Babylon without letting Babylon live in Him. This is the story of God through Daniel.
